Kshatriya Dharma
Kshatriya Dharma refers to the the duties of one of the four Varnas viz. Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. In the Purusha Sukta of the Rigveda, there is reference to the four Varnas. It is described there that the Kshatriyas came out of the arms of the Lord, the Creator. According to the Bhagavad Gita, Guna (quality) and Karma (kind of work) determine the Varna of a man.
Shri Lord Krishna says
चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः। तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम् ॥४-१३ ॥
ऋग्वेद
अग्निरीशे बृहतः क्षत्रियस्य…॥३॥
यजुर्वेद
चिद् असि मनासि धीर् असि दक्षिणासि क्षत्रियासि यज्ञियास्य् अदितिर् अस्य् उभयतःशीर्ष्णी ।
सा नः सुप्राची सुप्रतीच्य् एधि मित्रस् त्वा पदि बध्नीतां पूषाऽध्वनस् पात्व् इन्द्रायाध्यक्षाय ॥
अथर्ववेद
इममिन्द्र वर्धय क्षत्रियं मे इमं विशामेकवृषं कृणु त्वम् । निरमित्रान् अक्ष्णुह्यस्य सर्वांस्तान् रन्धयास्मा अहमुत्तरेषु ॥१॥
महाभारत
क्षत्रियस्यापि यो धर्मस्तं ते वक्ष्यामि भारत। दद्याद्राजा न याचेत यजेत न च याजयेत्।।12
